I designed a horse sculpture. The Saudi museum in Riyadh wanted two sculptures depicting Arabian horses. The sculptures were references to an Islamic proverb about Allah appearing in the desert as a horse made of desert wind, hence the rear tendrils. The horse to be built out of metal rods forming the outer contour of the horse.
The client offered the dimensional request, and offered some concept drawings for inspiration, and I went to work
To come up with the design, I re-purposed a pose-able horse asset intended for a video game, altered the geometry to resemble an Arabian horse, and then drew splines on the model. We then posed the horse into the shape needed for the exhibit space.
